Step 1 – Creating a new sampler instrument. Take the rest of the audio snippet and import into the EXS24 Sampler. |
Step 2 – Pitching and spanning a sample. Take one of the samples and span the notes over two octaves. This allows you to play the samples at different speeds i.e. pitched lower or higher than the original. |
Step 3 – Looping a sample. Use the EXS24 loop function for interesting effects. To enable loop, first go to the view’ menu and select loop.
Change the value of the end point of the loop by a few samples. Open the sample in the sample editor and change the size of the orange loop line, situated under the audio window. |
Step 4 – Copying samples within the EXS24. You have to use the copy paste functions of the edit menu. Highlight the sample you want to copy first. |
Step 5 – Filtering a sample. Switch on the filter and change cut off point and resonance to the desired values. |
Step 6 – Do your own thing. See what you can do with the samples |
