In this 1st video we will look at the basics of subtractive synthesis and tackle the parameters that we need to know in order to use a synth effectively.

Step 1 – Introduction. What is Subtractive Synthesis? |
Step 2 – The Oscillators. The sine wave, square wave, ramp wave, sawtooth wave, pulse wave |
Step 3 – The Filters. LPF, HPF, Peak filter, Notch filter, BPF & Resonance |
Step 4 – The Envelopes. ADSR, Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release |
Step 5 – The LFO. Pitch modulation |
Step 6 – Experiment with the ES2. Select the ‘Analog Saw Init’ preset and adjust the OSC, Filter, ADSR Envelope and LFO. Create your own synth sound. |
